Happy New Year!
Just wanted to post here quickly and say that I hope all of my friends and fans had a joyous holiday season. I know we all look forward to 2010 and the future and hope that it will be “better” than 2009.
But how do we define “better”? As I posted to my good friend Reese Christians Facebook Wall…
“I take the good AND the bad. Sure – there were downturns for me in 2009, and I’m no better off financially than I was a year ago at this time. On the OTHER hand, I’ve got someone in my life now that means the world to me, and had the most AMAZING road trips and adventures with her in 2009!! So while I faltered and stumbled in some areas last year, I also prospered in other parts of my life!
Saying one year is “better” or “worse” than another year is like saying “hot is better than cold” – for certain things, yes. For others, no.
I think over-all when you reflect back, you have to say there was good AND bad in ANY given year of your life, and even if it seemed completely lousy, the “bad” things make us grow as people, so its not all bad after all.”
Just a little New Years “wisdom” from someone with a PhD in Life from Hard Knocks University!
